ANTICA MURRINA is specialised in working Murano glass.
It is the only company in Venice that has managed to combine craftsmanship traditions, industrial philosophies and fashion design and now holds a leading position in all the world markets.
Luxury and simplicity, fashion and tradition, Antica Murrina jewellery is the result of the constant challenge between development and tradition.
Necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, pendants, charms, all top design luxury, inimitable jewellery that is easy to wear but affordable, to make the woman who wears them unique. Antica Murrina jewellery is entirely handmade and decorated, following the antique traditions of expert Murano glassworkers.
One of the features that distinguishes glass from other materials, such as metal, is the way it solidifies.
Solidification is done gradually, passing from 1400°C, when glass is in the liquid state, to 500°C, and in this space of time the glass can be worked over the flame: this is the magical moment when the Antica Murrina Design takes shape, creating collections of the most modern Fashion Jewellery, but entirely made respecting the traditional methods for Venetian glass beads, where colour, transparency and depth play their inimitable role.
We use the term Fashion Jewellery, because the corresponding Italian term “bigiotteria – i.e. costume jewellery” although linguistically correct, does not do justice to the craftsman’s art and our constant search for new designs, which are the basis of all our creativity.
To work the glass manual ability, experience and sensitivity are needed, which only a few expert glassworkers have today: Antica Murrina knows the importance of this unique experience and has began a sort of industrialisation of the handmade production, training hundreds of able craftsmen, organising them to a strictly industrial logic respecting their quality of life and safeguarding the environment.
